In the polyptych the abstract beauty and complexity of the Earth’s deepest oceanic trench is translated into six palpable relief prints.

Acknowledgement: Unbeknownst to us, artist Zoro Feigl developed a similar work of art called Floating Fields in 2013. An unfortunate result of synchronicity of thought and invention, as acknowledged by both artists.

URBAN SUN, a world-first innovation, aims to restore our interpersonal connections in public spaces amid a global pandemic. Leveraging a unique wavelength of ultraviolet light, it substantially mitigates aerosol coronavirus within a distinct, warm yellow light circle. Unlike conventional germicidal UV lights, the prototype employs a human-safe far-UVC light, allowing for continual use around individuals.

SPIEGELSTENEN commemorates the historic event of of Afsluitdijk’s final section’s closure by introducing a symbolic ‘new’ gap. The last section of running water returns as a glistening hue of blue and white in reflection of the sky. An optical illusion that works through a highly reflective metallic coating covering the old basalt rocks. This artistic tribute exists as a limited series, exclusively bestowed upon those dedicated to preserving the Afsluitdijk.

AURORA transforms the three air separation towers of the nitrogen installation into a beacon of light, symbolizing the transition to renewable energy. Key to hastening the phase-out of gas extraction in Groningen, this plant extracts nitrogen from the air to mix with high-calorific foreign gas. The artwork provides a glimpse into the beauty of the machinery driving the energy transition, creating a constantly changing ‘Northern Lights of the North’ that interacts dynamically with the atmosphere.

AVION is an exquisite fusion of art and engineering, where purpose and simplicity culminate in beauty. This wind-powered sculpture, consisting of flying kites, is capable of harnessing the wind to generate up to 100kW of energy. Eight dancing lines of light outline this kinetic landmark, evoking the fluid contour lines of a skyscraper and creating a visually distinctive icon that embodies our new green future. The concept is inspired by an ancient tradition and serves as a wind-powered cultural landmark.

HYDRO is an innovative tower designed to harvest atmospheric moisture and convert it into potable water. As a solution to the pressing global issue of water scarcity, this tower condenses moisture into water droplets, which are then collected for use. The tower is enveloped in a water-responsive, light-emitting skin that visually represents this seemingly magical process of creating water from air. The conductive properties of the water droplets trigger illumination in the skin; an effect so mesmerizing, it brings an experiential quality to the water collecting process.
